Squash 2016 Bounces into Sportaccord
Many of the most important people in the world of Squash have gathered in Denver, USA to attend Sportaccord 2009 and boost the campaign for the sport’s inclusion in the Olympic Games from 2016.

President of the World Squash Federation (WSF) N Ramachandran has been joined by sporting legend Jahangir Khan, Emeritus President, Susie Simcock, Past President, and current players including World No.2 Natalie Grainger to make a splash for squash, under the Patronage of HRH Prince Tunku Imran of Malaysia.

WSF have a stand in the Exhibition Area where players can talk to visiting delegates from all over the world and outline why they believe squash deserves to be included in the Olympic Programme. WSF representatives will also attend all of the major functions and be on hand to answer any questions about the bid.

Speaking from Denver, N Ramachandran said, “It is very important that we have a strong presence here at Sportaccord. It sends the clear signal that the sport is taking this bid very seriously and we want everyone in the world of sport to know what it means to us, and what an incredible sport squash is.”

Grainger added, “It’s just great to be here, speaking to so many people who are interested in squash and what we have to say. We are a unique sport played all over the world by so many diverse people. Squash teaches co-operation and fair play. Just two people sharing the space of a glass court and fighting for supremacy is Corinthian in the extreme. I think we are a perfect candidate for Olympic inclusion”

The WSF stand is number 103 in the main Exhibition Area, and the team are very happy to welcome anyone who would like to stop by for a chat.
